STAINLESS STEEL IS FOCUS OF ONE-DAY WORKSHOP FOR ARCHITECTS, DESIGNERS AND SPECIFIERS

(Washington, D.C. and Toronto, Canada) - The Specialty Steel Industry of North America (SSINA) and the Nickel Development Institute (NiDI) announced today the upcoming schedule for their annual workshops for architects and others interested in learning about innovative and cost-effective applications for stainless steel in the architecture, building, and construction industry.

"Stainless Steel for Architectural Applications" is being offered in Denver, Colorado on September 13 at The Westin Tabor Center; Los Angeles, California on September 14 at the Los Angeles Marriott Downtown; Long Beach, California on September 15 at the Renaissance Long Beach Hotel; San Francisco, California on September 18 at The Westin St. Francis; and Seattle, Washington on September 19 at The Westin Seattle.

The workshop, which runs from 8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., covers basic selection, aesthetic, design, and maintenance considerations for using stainless steels. Finish examples and other samples are displayed. A broad range of U.S. and international architectural and construction applications are illustrated during the workshop, along with case studies illustrating the advantages and limitations of stainless.

The presenters are metallurgists and industrial marketing professionals with considerable experience in using stainless steel in the building industry. SSINA/NiDI is a registered provider with the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The course is approved by the AIA for 7 LU hours of Health, Safety and Welfare.

The workshop is highly interactive and questions are encouraged. Participants receive a literature package with additional technical information, design ideas, and a directory of stainless steel product suppliers. Continental breakfast, coffee break refreshments and lunch will be served.

A non-refundable fee of $75.00 will be charged to each registrant. Registrants may pay by check, Visa, or Mastercard. Payment is due before the workshop.
