WASHINGTON, D.C. – Chris Zimmer, Chairman of the Specialty Steel Industry of North American and President and CEO Universal Stainless and Alloy Products Inc., today applauded remarks presented by U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Jamieson Greer to the Global Steel Forum on Excess Capacity (GFSEC) ministerial meeting, which took place in South Africa this morning. Zimmer made the following statement:
“Ambassador Greer is exactly right that there is an urgent need for collective action now by GFSEC members to develop a new framework to address excess steel capacity. SSINA urges other governments to work together with the United States to develop a new joint framework and action plan to resolve this urgent and long-standing problem.”
